Vintage Wedding Fair at Shuttleworth
This was a lovely day organised by the National Vintage Wedding Fair and lots of great suppliers were on hand to help with a fake wedding that they carried out on the day…
It was held in the grounds of The Swiss Garden and they are gorgeous, with a grotto and lovely small lake with a bridge. All great places for photo’s. Even a beautiful green/blue peacock strutted around to help with pictures and to come and take a look at the marquee!!
Vintage can mean different things – anything from the 1920’s through to the 1950’s were incorporated at the fair.
I decided on a vintage country cottage garden look for the flowers that day and used Freesia, Dahlia and Rununculus, alongside Asparagus Fern to give a light floaty look to the overall effects. Freesia were a particular of brides in years gone by and have a lovely smell to them.
A Tip: Dahlia and Rununuculus are soft stem flowers and do not particularly like being in foam, so they are great in bouquets, vases, jugs or in natural style arrangements where you do not use foam.
