One of my recent weddings was at Hitchin Priory, which is a lovely venue, set in acres of parkland, and the reception took place in the marquee.  Pink Gerbera’s and Gypsophila were chosen as the main flowers and they were in the bouquets, handheld wands and buttonholes…

The tables were upside down Martini Glasses with a small flower design at the bottom and a Gypsophila Ball with Gerbera and Roses sitting pretty on the top.  This took a bit of thinking about to ensure that it sat neatly on the top and did not come off during the reception!!  Thankfully all was good and it worked…

I wanted to share this with you because the night before I had taken the Gypsophila Balls and the Martini Glasses to the venue to set them up.  I had made them using one of the glasses as a test and so I did not expect any issues…silly me. I discovered some of the Martini Glasses had a different base and had a slight raise on them, this meant that the tray that the design sat in did not sit but was lopsided.  I did sort it out but not before a bit of a panic had set in.  So, if you’re doing something and have more than one of any vase/container… check them all well before the night of the event!!
